This　book　completes　the　research　into　the　children's　literature　in　china.

Children's　literature　only　obtains　its　name　at　the　beginning　of　the　20th　century　in　China.　Then,　prior　to　this　period,　how　did　the　literature　relate　to　children？In　what　way　did　children's　literature　grow　out　of　Chinese　literature　and　develop　into　an　independent　style？　How　did　it　connect　to　folk　literature,　Chinese　ancient　literature,　and　the　ancient　readings　for　children?　What　was　the　prerequisite　for　the　development　of　Chinese　children's　literature　from　unconsciousness　to　consciousness?　On　that　ground　did　Chinese　children's　literature　gain　its　dependence　during　May　the　Fourth,　the　New　Culture　Movement?　Concerning　the　above　topics,　which　are　of　critical　importance　to　children'　s　literature,　no　one　work　has　ever　given　a　systematic　and　fundamental　exposition.　Based　on　detailed　materials,　logical　reasoning　and　inspiring　ideas　of　the　author,　"The　Source　of　Children's　Literature　in　China"　gives　a　panorama　of　the　whole　process　of　children's　literature　in　China,　making　a　great　contribution　to　the　construction　of　Chinese　children's　literature.
